Deixa-me erguer as pernas, desdobrar as asas.

e apartar o suor do medo.

Deixa-me desdobrar as asas, chamar os pássaros.
Já te sigo.

Kneeling

I’m still down on my knees, I don’t see the sky.
Let me lift my legs, spread my wings.
Let me take the weight off my shoulders,
of diseases, of deaths,
of the crosses, the infidelities of the world.
Let me shake the body to keep the vultures away
and break the sweat of fear.
I’m still down on my knees. No, I don’t see the sky from here.
It’s so much what bends me that I can’t lift my head
and fallen no one can see the sky
not even the dream.
I gotta take this ground floor look
to rediscover my roots, my ground.
The forces will come after
when your cry is heard.
I’m still down on my knees. No, I don’t see the sky from here.
But I see your hand.
I hear your voice: don’t give up, I’m with you.
Let me spread my wings, call the birds.
I’ll be right with you.
